¡Viva viernes!       (Long live Friday! In other words, TGIF!)

La fecha es el veintidós (22) de abril del año dos mil veintidós. (The date is April 22, 2022.)

Venezuelan singer Óscar d’León’s salsa classic Detalles (Details) is a beautiful reminder for men in relationships to never forget “details” to show their women that they appreciate them.

The song calls on men to remember that “tu madre pudo ser”—“she could be your mother.” In other words, men should treat their special ladies as they would want another man to treat their own mothers. “Merece respeto” (She deserves respect). My favorite detalles that d’León encourages men to not stop doing are “cómprale un ramo de flores” (buy her a bouquet of flowers) and “la sacabas a bailar” (you used to take her out to dance).
