We were introduced to the Bolivian version of sopapillas (also known as sopaipillas) at the end of last year. This week we are learning to make sopapillas mexicanas, a fried dough treat popular in the northern states of Mexico.

polvo de hornear(baking powder)
sal(salt)
manteca vegetal(shortening)
agua caliente(hot water)
dulce de rapadura(panela / raw brown sugar)
aceite vegetal(vegetable oil)
azúcar glas(confectioners sugar)
canela molida(ground cinnamon)
miel(honey)
