- vestirse de blanco (wearing white for positivity, good energy, peace, happines, and good health)
- ropa nueva (new clothes as a good omen for the new year)
- derramar agua en la calle (pouring a glass of water in the street to leave behind bad moments and ward off bad energy for the new year)
- usar ropa interior roja o amarilla (wearing red [for love] or yellow [for good luck and happiness] undergarments)
- escribir deseos (writing your desires on a piece of paper, folding it, and opening it at midnight)
- pararse arriba de una silla (getting on a chair or step for an ascending year and getting down with the right foot)
- entrar y salir de la casa (entering and leaving the house to increase traveling possibilities)
