Celia Cruz faced several hardships growing up in Cuba. But she had an amazing personality and a big heart, showering love and joy on everyone around her. 

Therefore, I feel she has every right to tell us not to cry (no hay que llorar) but to sing, because sorrows leave when we sing (las penas se van cantando).
