¡Viva viernes!     (Long live Friday! In other words, TGIF!)

La fecha es el quince (15) de marzo del año dos mil veinticuatro. (The date is March 15, 2024.)

This week we dance to Sonlokos’ remake of Irakere’s Bacalao con pan (Cod with Bread). This Cuban classic highlights the staple food on the island in the 1970s.

Here are some key lines from both versions:

“Oye rumbero te estoy llamando” (Hey rumba dancer, I’m calling you),

“Rumbero tú no respondes” (Rumba dancer, you’re not responding),
