¡Hoy es martes meditativo!     (Today is meditative Tuesday!)

La fecha es el dos (2) de mayo del año dos mil veintitrés. (The date is May 2, 2023.)

El dicho de la semana es:        

A buena hora, mangas verdes.

(The saying of the week is:     Perfect timing, green sleeves.)

This Spanish refrain has a sarcastic tone. It came about from a time when the Santa Hermandad (Holy Brotherhood) soldiers, who had green-sleeved uniforms, would always arrive late to crime scenes. Based on this pattern, when something or someone previously anticipated presents itself when it’s no longer opportune or necessary, it can be declared, “A buena hora, mangas verdes.”

Practice saying this refrain whenever anticipated help arrives too late.
